This pandemic has touched everyone, and every time we see a glimmer of light at the end of a very long and dark tunnel something snuffs it out.

  • A 747 Farewell

Posted by Sue Redmond at Tuesday, October 6th, 2020 2:05pm

This year will be remembered for many things, not least the escalated retirement of many of the Boeing 747 fleets.

Sadly the pandemic has forced many airlines to bring forward the planned retirement date of these ageing and less cost efficient aircraft.

But for many the Queen of the Skies was the very essence of long-haul travel, a great, glamourous two-storey beast that offered space and comfort.

We pay our own farewell tribute to the Boeing 747 with a fond look back to where it all started.
